  2. A simple majority vote of the Elected Officers present is required to advance a candidate, issue and/or referendum for consideration for endorsement by the Voting Membership

OYD 2019 Fall Meeting + Newark Day of Action

Join the Ohio Young Democrats for their Fall 2019 Meeting + Day of Action. The meeting will kick off at 10:30am at the Licking County Democrats HQ (located at 2054 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark OH 43055). They will have some guest speakers; give updates from officers; debrief from the 2019 YDA Convention; grab some lunch; and then head out to canvass for fellow YD Seth Dobbelaer For Newark City Council and YD at Heart and Candidate for Newark Mayor Councilman Jeremy Blake.

This meeting is open to all Young Democrats (anyone between 16-40), and you do not have to be a member of a chartered OYD Chapter to attend.

Absentee Voting By Mail: Begins

Any qualified Ohio voter whose registration information is up to date may request and vote an absentee ballot without stating a reason.

Begins October 8.

All applications for an absentee ballot must be in writing. Please complete the Absentee Voting Application

Voters with a qualifying disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act, who have access to a printer, may request an absentee ballot and use a Remote Ballot Marking System. This allows a voter with a qualifying disability to receive a ballot electronically, vote their ballot, print their voted ballot and return the voted ballot to the Board of Elections in person or by mail. To use this service please complete the special application located here.

For your absentee ballot to be counted, it must be received as follows:

  • If you are a voter within the U.S. and you return your ballot by mail, the return envelope containing your marked ballot must either be received by the board of elections prior to the close of polls on Election Day, or postmarked* no later than the day before the election and received by the board of elections no later than 10 days after the election.

  • If you are a voter outside the U.S. on Election Day, the return envelope containing your marked ballot must be received by the board of elections not later than 10 days after the election.

  • If your ballot is returned in person to the board of elections office, your marked ballot must be sealed in the completed and signed identification envelope provided with the ballot and delivered to your county board of elections office no later than 7:30 p.m., the close of polls, on Election Day.

Night 2 will take place at The Big Dog Saloon in Ravenna in the outside patio bar on Thursday, June 27th, 9:00p - 11:00p. Event doors open 8:30 PM.

Cash bar, and light refreshments will be provided.

Night 2 features 10 top Democrats vying to be our next President. It will be a great opportunity to network with like-minded people, learn more about the candidates, and start laying the groundwork for 2020!
